Decon is a residential space for the Gapens that is surrounded with clean streamlines and a few bold colors to clearly define the Industrial and Modern Style while keeping in the comfort and openness desired within the home. Located on the West side shoreline of Grand Lake in Boulder, Colorado, this home will have magnificent lake views from anywhere in the home.
Bringing together the Industrial Modern style seamlessly, while incorporating every aspect of Sam and Kevin’s relaxing and outdoor lifestyle will be sure to give them the desired sense of unexpectedness.
Many unique elements created with wood, metal, and concrete have been placed when designing this space to express the Gapens personality. Sleek streamlines are the strongest design element that threads throughout the home along with the strong use of raw metal to inspire the Industrial and Modern Style.
Residential
Lacerated
Lacerated was created and designed around the concept of Myopia, which is a condition that is a direct result of the eye’s desire to survive. The eye is unaware of the damage its creating to itself, it is simply doing everything it must do to survive. This survival trait is pure instinct for all living & carbon beings in nature.
The fight or flight theory was the driving force behind Lacerated. Just as the eye is doing everything it must do to survive, the structure was designed with everything you may need to survive while traveling around the area. Lacerated is a hostel located in the Boundary Water that includes a survival outfitters in the first level. Sharp, strong, modern lines are placed throughout the structure to contrast the organic elements of the site. The design will use massive windows throughout to bring in that much needed rest from the striking and modern interior.
